Description
I remember being a little girl and my Mum would roast a chicken and, once it was stripped, she would save the wishbone. It would be left to dry out on the window ledge and then my sister and I would use our pinkies, one each side, to break it. Whoever ended up with the larger piece got the wish.
When I was a teenager my Mum and Dad gifted me with a gold wishbone necklace, I still have it, and I wore it until my preference was for silver jewellery in my mid to late teens.
Recently I have spent a lot of time in hospital waiting rooms while my Mum has investigations, after being unwell for some time. Lots of time to spend reminiscing led me to this memory. I found myself wax carving my own wishbone (funnily enough I was the only wax carver in the waiting room) during one long wait and this is how it turned out, now cast in solid sterling silver.
My wishes now are very different from when I was a young girl, no longer for material/tangible items but for the things money cannot buy us.
This solid sterling silver wishbone has a length of 30mm and its widest point is 15mm. It weighs 3.2g and comes with an 18″ solid sterling silver curb chain.
One available and ready to post. This wishbone necklace will arrive in a Silverpickle gift box, tied with ribbon and includes a little polishing cloth.
