Asymmetrical Aurora Ring

I have been really enjoying my journey working with Aurora Opals.  They are such a durable material but have all the magic of genuine Opals.

The Aurora Borealis has so many swirling colours and this ring encapsulates all of them, from pink to orange and blue to green with a hint of purple in the right light.

This ring is made out of solid sterling silver and it is 1.5mm thick.  The widest point is 10mm and the narrowest bit is 6mm in width.  The two widths meet at the top giving an asymmetrical look to the ring.  I have sparkle textured the surface to catch the light. The Aurora Opal measures 9mmx6mm and the handmade setting is also made from sterling silver.

The total weight of this ring is 9.6g.
