What is that well known saying?……”Go big or go home”! My little pebble pendants are one the most popular selling pieces I make but recently I have been making a slightly larger version and they have been selling like hotcakes.
The larger pebbles are made in exactly the same way as my standard love pebbles. They are made from the offcuts of clean, solid sterling silver that I save up in my workshop. These offcuts are little pieces of sheet or wire that get collected from other makes and are then weighed out to 5.6g before being melted down into a pebble. Each pebble is completely unique in its shape and form and I leave the base with its lovely unique heat texture. The top surface is filed and sanded until beautifully smooth, creating a gorgeously tactile surface.
The 9ct yellow gold heart is also made from clean offcuts which have been melted into a ball and then rolled flat, to 1mm thickness. Handcut with a free hand means that each heart, just like its pebble, is completely unique in its shape. It is then soldered to the smooth top surface of the pebble. Unlike the smaller pebble, which has a drilled hole and free moving jumpring for the chain to run through, the larger pebble has a 1.5mm thick round bail soldered to the top of the pebble making the whole piece delightfully solid.
The chain included with this pebble is a solid sterling silver ball chain, which is 18″ in length.
The total weight of the pendant is approximately 5.6g. A weighty charm that is under weight for the need to be sent for hallmarking
