Blue Kyanite Pebble Drop Earrings

I started making pebbles out of my scrap sterling silver back in 2017. It is a great way to reuse and recycle a now expensive precious metal. Every piece of jewellery I make creates so form of scrap, whether it is snips of wire, offcuts of sheet or just the fine dust from piercing.
Each pebble is made out of solid sterling silver from my clean scrap jar, weighed to the exact required weight each time and then melted into a molten pebble using my torch. Although they are the exact same weight, each pebble is unique in its shape but I do pair them up as best I can.
Each pebble measures approximately 10mm in diameter and has a gorgeous 5mm deep Blue Kyanite gemstone set on it. The pebbles are attached flattened 1.8mm thick handmade rings, by soldered jumprings, that give the earrings the extra bit of length and movement. The ear hook is attached to these rings. The total drop from the top of the hook to the bottom of each pebble is 36mm.
While the top surface of each pebble has geen filed and sanded smooth the bottom has been left with texture from the heat of the torch.
The total weight of each earring is 5g.
