Who doesn’t love a chunky handmade link bracelet with a heavy and tactile heart charm?
I love making chain. A very repetitive and therapeutic task that I lose myself in at my bench. It is pretty time consuming so it isn’t very common for me to have the time to indulge in making an extra piece, outwith orders.
This chain has been made using 1.8mm thick solid sterling silver round wire. Slightly and noticably thicker than my usual handmade bracelet chain. Each link is formed, interlinked and soldered closed to form a lovely chain. The handmade closure is a toggle and both the t-bar and circle are made using 2.5mm thick sterling silver wire.
The heart charm is a Silverpickle shaped heart, unique to me. It was originally handcarved in wax and then sand cast in solid sterling silver in my workshop. Permanently attached to the circle of the toggle closure, the heart charm moves freely.
The total weight of this bracelet is 29.6g. The length of the link chain is 17cm and from the end of the circle to the end of the t-bar the length is 18.5cm. It is the perfect fit for a 16cm circumference wrist. The heart measures 20mm x 13mm, is a approximately 5mm thick and is hallmarked on the reverse.
Hallmarked in Edinburgh.
