Is there anything more Scottish than a Thistle? I was asked to make a “Thistle inspired” set of three stacking rings and I loved them so much that I thought they should be available to everyone with a love of Scotland .
Once we approach the middle to the end of June, in Scotland, the Thistle is in full bloom. They are everywhere here in Perthshire, along the side of the road, up in the hills and all around our garden! The Spear Thistle (aka Scotch Thistle) is the one I love the most with its large head and vibrant purple inflorescence, it’s a spikey devil too. We also get a lot of Creeping Thistle, which is smaller and with a lighter, pretty lilac purple flower, similar to the Heather we get up on the hills.
Incorporating the parts of Scotland that I love the most into my work brings me such joy and I feel like the colours chosen for this set of stacking rings is a perfect reflection of Scotland’s national flower.
Lavender Amethyst, Aventurine and African Amethyst are natural gemstones and each gemstone is unique with its depth of colour and occasional occlusions. I have used a big beautiful 8mm sized Lavender Amethyst on this set of rings along with a 5mm Aventurine and a 5mm African Amethyst. Each gemstone is set in solid sterling silver and mounted on a 2mm thick solid sterling silver smooth ring. The rings sit toghether perfectly but each ring can also be worn individually or stacked up alongside other rings (pictures also show the three rings with two sparkle spacer rings, which you can also purchase from my shop). You can choose your required ring size in the drop down box. For the Thistle Stack (three rings) please select your standard ring size.
