Our 2021 Summer break took us up to the Highlands.  I am proud to be Scottish and could quite happily holiday at home, here in Scotland, forever.  We stayed in a beautiful house surrounded by mountains on the Kyle of Tongue and took daily trips to amazing white sandy beaches.

Sango Bay is one of Scotlands most northernly beaches, close to Durness.  The day we visited Sango Bay for the first time our feet were the first prints on the white sand that afternoon.  Turquoise water, hidden caves (one shaped like a heart at the inner opening) and the softest beautiful white sand. I love beach combing but Sango Bay had no treasures to sift through at all, just unbroken white sand with the odd piece of seaweed.  I found a few shells with holes and the odd small geometric stone.  Just as we were leaving the beach I came across a solo tiny smooth pebble down at the surf and it was destined to be mine.
